Title: Webinar: The Multifunctional Building – TRL Transfroming Rural Landscapes
How can vacant or underused non-urban buildings become viable multifunctional spaces that respond to several needs at once?
The session focuses on three threads/Three international experts /Case studies
(1) Community and embedded multifunctionality: how different users, activities, and local needs can coexist within one building and strengthen community life.
(2) Programming, identity, and business models: how cultural, entrepreneurial, social, and income-generating uses can support one another without losing a coherent purpose.
(3) Financial sustainability and management: how functional mix, ownership, management, and revenue models influence the long-term feasibility of building reuse.
Designed for Local Action Groups (LAGs), municipalities, rural organisations, and local initiatives, the session combines short expert talks with an extended Q&A. Participants will compare practical approaches and connect the examples to their own buildings, territories, and project ideas.
