EU CAP Network seminar 'Innovative tools for advisors'

The EU CAP Network seminar ‘Innovative tools for advisors’ takes place in Dublin, Ireland on 19 March and 20 March 2026. A call for expressions of interest is open until 10 December 2025, 23:59 CET.

The overall aim of the seminar is to facilitate knowledge exchange and identify practical tools that strengthen the capacity-building of advisors.

The seminar will focus on tools and methods developed under national and European initiatives, including digital platforms, knowledge hubs, learning networks, and demo farms, and aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and identify practical tools that strengthen the capacity-building of advisors.

Objectives

The seminar ‘Innovative tools for advisors’ has the following specific objectives:

  1. Capitalise on available results by showcasing inspiring practices and effective advisory tools developed under national and European initiatives, and building on lessons learned from AKIS activities to strengthen the capacity building of advisors and advisory organisations, particularly in their role as innovation brokers.
  2. Explore tools for knowledge exchange such as knowledge hubs, advisory networks, digital applications (including AI), demonstration farms, learning networks, and training events, illustrating how they can be applied in practice and strengthen collaboration between advisory services, CAP Strategic Plans Managing Authorities, National CAP Networks and EU projects.
  3. Support peer-to-peer learning among advisors, encouraging intergenerational exchanges and promoting the cross-fertilisation of competences, business models, working styles, and underlying values, to build collective capacity and address the evolving needs of farmers and rural communities.
  4. Strengthen advisors’ capacity to support generational renewal by exploring suitable approaches and tools for advisors to support new entrants in farming and intergenerational farm transfer, contributing to the implementation of “Strategy for Generational Renewal in Agriculture’’.
  5. Bridge research and practice by exploring knowledge gaps among advisors, understanding how to better implement promising tools from project outputs in everyday practice, and involving advisors in research and innovation projects.

Main target groups

Advisors and innovation brokers, advisory service representatives, advisors from farmers and foresters organisations, training providers and VET representatives, Managing Authorities, National CAP Networks, EU and nationally funded project representatives.

Please note that the number of participants is limited and it will not be possible to accommodate all requests for participation. The organisers will assess the applications received and will confirm the attendance to the selected participants by mid December 2025.

Please be advised we can only accept one participant per project/organisation. However, the participation of advisors from farmers’ and foresters’ organisations is strongly encouraged, therefore a second application per organisation/project may be accepted.
