In 2015-2018 in Finland there was an effort to develop the services of and around the newly established Southern Konnevesi National Park both in terms of infrastructure provided by public actors and as business environment for enterprises to strive.
An article describing the case of Southern Konnevesi, developing from a national park to a tourism destination by wide participation, cooperation, and ecosystem approach of tourism governance. Cooperation stretches across all sectors and functions from funding through infrastructure to business activity. The case is part of the Responsible Tourism Best Practices in the Nordic Countries collection. The article is placed on pages 124-146 of the publication.
