Article from Theory in Practice conference 2025, p. 151-166.

In autumn 2024, students from various degree programs at Jamk University of Applied Sciences joined the Rural Finland Tourism Hub project to explore international rural tourism in Finland. Using design thinking, they conducted 389 interviews, iterating and testing concepts despite having no prior tourism experience. This participatory research aligned with ecosystemic governance, highlighting interdisciplinary collaboration, key tourist profiles, challenges, and solutions for rural tourism development.
